Louisville Restaurant Series: Dinner

We are at our final restaurant series blog that includes Louisville’s top dinner spots! In our last two series, we gave you some of the most delicious, local breakfast and lunch places to try in Louisville. In this series, we are going to list the top five dinner spots you need to taste, according to Team Panella! Get ready because this list includes a variety of cuisine that will make your mouth water.

    1. Grind Burger Kitchen

Located in Downtown Louisville, Grind Burger Kitchen offers the best selection of hamburgers, craft beer, and cocktails. The menu may be small, but the flavors of the hamburgers are definitely mighty! The restaurant has been featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so you know this place is good! You will have the option of building your own burger, or you can go with one of their famous burgers such as the ‘Old Fashioned’ burger or the ‘Veggie’ burger. As a side, you have a choice of hand cut fries, kale salad, and brussels sprouts (a must-order). A local beverage from Gravely Brewing, Against The Grain, or Falls City makes for a completely delicious meal. Head on out to Grind Burger before a Louisville City FC or Bats game and support local!

    2. Seafood Lady

Craving some southern style cajun and seafood in Old Louisville? Owner Nichelle Thurston from Seafood Lady has got you covered. Similar to Grind Burger, Seafood Lady caught the eye of Food Networks traveling foodie, Guy Fieri and was featured on his show. Nichelle creates tasty dishes based off her own grandfather’s recipes, how cool is that? You can order anything seafood such as fried boiled shrimp, crab legs, crab cakes, crawfish, and cajun eggs. We recommend getting a half or full combo, their famous “chee sea” fries, or the crab cake meal;  but know you will most likely be sharing with someone as these meals are fairly large!

    3. Feast

Next on our list is the one and only Feast BBQ! You may know Feast from it’s reputable pulled pork or baby back pork ribs, or you may have seen it posted all over Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi’s social media accounts while filming her show in Louisville. They have the best loaded tots around and when you’re there, you have to try one of their signature bourbon slushies. We recommend their fried pickles, pulled pork tacos with some sweet potato fries. You can try this restaurant downtown, and soon you will be able to try it in the heart of Jeffersontown!

    4. Jeff Ruby’s

Looking for some quality surf and turf? Jeff Ruby’s is the place for you. Jeff Ruby created the hallmark of his restaurant brand in Cincinnati and has expanded within the region, including here in Downtown Louisville. It is a family owned business that prides itself on consistency and quality. This restaurant provides an ambience-like atmosphere in which you can relax and enjoy  cocktail with some delicious food. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, but you have to try an assortment from their raw bar as well as a high quality steak or lobster. You haven’t experienced seafood and steak until you’ve experienced this place.

    5. Irish Rover

Want to take a trip to Ireland, but can’t afford it? No worries, the Irish Rover is here. Located in the historic Clifton-Crescent Hill area, this old-time Irish pub serves some of the best bangers and bash, fish and chips, and scotch eggs! You haven’t experienced Irish food until you’ve experienced Irish Rover. Once you walk in the door, you feel as if you’ve been taken to an old Irish pub in Ireland from the decor and “pub-like” atmosphere. And guess what? Irish Rover has also been featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! Our Marketing Coordinator, Kristina, hosted her rehearsal dinner at Irish Rover and can attest to the quality of service and friendliness of the staff and owners! Once you try this place, you will want to go back, that’s for sure!
