Forget Spring cleaning, Fall cleaning is one of the most important cleaning times of the year (so we say)! There are so many things you should be doing to get your house ready for fall, but we will list the top five you need to do ASAP!
Check your Fridge. When is the last time you cleaned out your fridge? The refrigerator is one of the last things we clean. NOT THIS TIME! Check your fridge for expired foods, dressings and clean out each glass shelf with vinegar and water. An all purpose cleaner also works well! Empty out contents and if you can, make sure to recycle glass and plastic bottles. You will feel so much better after this deep clean and newly stocked items for the Winter coming!
Fireplace Cleaning. Yes, this is extremely important. Research and get estimates on how much it will cost you to get your fireplace checked and ready for use during the Fall and Winter time. This should be something you should be doing each year to make sure your chimney and fireplace are good to go.
Under Furniture Cleaning. Out of sight, out of mind right? Wrong! Even though we can’t see the dust and dirtiness under our furniture, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Take the time before you put decorations up to give under your furniture (and stove) and good clean. You will feel so much better knowing your ENTIRE house is clean, not just some parts.
Reorganize Pantry and Cupboards. Tired of your unorganized Tupperware and dish drawer or shelf? Do something about it! Go through your dishes, pots and pans, and Tupperware and get rid of the ones you don’t need. Refer to our Top Five Kitchen hacks for ways you can organize your cupboard. Go through your pantry and throw out expired food or food you know you won’t eat. Create a list of the items you need to be replaced.
Check Heating System. Before Fall is in full effect, it’s best to get your heating system checked and vents cleaned so that the air circulating in your home is clean air. At this time, have your windows checked as well to make sure warm air isn’t getting out and the cool air isn’t getting in your home.
