Downtown Louisville

Downtown Louisville, as expected, is a happening place. Not just because of the businesses that surround the area, but because of the restoration of older homes leading to an increase in residents. It is the oldest part of the city and is made up of five business districts: East Main (Market) District, West Main District, Medical Center and Fourth St. District. Notable attractions in the East Market district, also referred to as NuLu are delicious eateries such as Feast BBQ, Royals Hot Chicken, and Grind Burger Kitchen. There are also many local shops including Peace of the Earth and the famous Muth’s Candy– home of the modjeska. We also can’t forget about Slugger Field and the annual NuLu Fest! If you want to be within a short distance to entertainment and night life, this is the area for you! Notable attractions in the West Main District are the Frazier History Museum, The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Kentucky Science Center, Louisville Slugger Museum, KFC Yum Center, Actor’s Theatre, and Muhammad Ali Center. The Medical Center is what you’d think- made up of all medical buildings and hospitals including Jewish Hospital, Norton, and University Hospital. The Fourth St. District is the most popular tourism sector of Louisville. It is made up of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. You can view all Fourth Street has to offer here.
